EASI Standards

Purpose

 

The EASI 180 is an electronic Return Authorization Request that is exchanged between trading partners.  The EASI 180 Return Authorization Request is sent by the purchaser to the seller as a request to return goods that have been provided.  It is a similar business process as faxing or emailing, just a different and more efficient communication method.  Some of the benefits associated with the use of the EASI 180 Return Authorization Request are:

 

 

1. Make it easier to process return authorization requests by creating a standardized electronic form.

2. Contains information regarding disposition of goods (1st quality vs damages) by GTIN – quantity, price (optional).

3. Maintain simplicity but increase automation.

4. Makes it much easier to review, compare, and authorize returns.

5. Eliminates re-keying of returns/claims.

6. Eliminates data entry errors.

7. Improve return authorization turnaround time.

Key Elements

 

• Vendor details (Company Name, ID Number, etc.)

• Purchaser details (Company Name, Contact Name, etc.)

• Purchase Order # (Optional - to accept accumulated product from multiple purchase orders)

• Disposition Code - Damaged or Return of Inventory Stock (1st Quality).  One disposition type per return request file.

• Return From Location Information - Distribution Center known by the Vendor - use existing Store ID's.
